360 VR Workshop

SCHEDULE FOR 360º VIDEO WORKFLOW CLASS THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 2019


INTRODUCTION:

  • This is a class for anyone interested in learning the ‘complete workflow’ to produce a professional 360º degree VR video that will play on most digital platforms, based on live video footage.
  • Students are encouraged to bring a laptop or computer to follow along as well as any 360 cameras including single lens cameras.  
  • Class will be taught using Windows 10, Adobe software and other specialized programs for various workflows.

SCHEDULE:

  • What is a 360º video and what editing programs are generally used. Time will be given to download trial versions of some programs we will be using so that you can follow along.  We will not be covering programs on the scale of Nuke. 
  • Introduction to various 360º camera types from non-professional mobile phones to multi-lens professional rigs.
  • How to take a 360º video or still with the various camera configurations and what are the rules and pitfalls.
  • Understanding lighting and sound.
  • Take your own 360º video or still.
  • Ingesting footage techniques.
  • File organization and naming.
  • Stitching techniques and follow-along demonstrations using various programs.
  • Techniques for editing a 360º degree video using Adobe Premier Pro CC and Adobe After Effects.
  • Techniques for adding text and graphics to a 360º video.
  • Techniques for erasing unwanted items in a 360º video.
  • Techniques for rendering the final video in resolutions greater than 4K.
  • Techniques for adding 360º stills to web platforms.
  • Adding appropriate Metadata to make the video run as a 360º video.
  • Uploading to YouTube, Facebook and other 360º platforms.
  • Processes for live streaming 360º video on Facebook.
